In a matter of days, Dex has been kidnapped, tortured, killed, revived, become half Therian, offered the chance to become a spy, and accepted a proposal to marry his jaguar Therian boyfriend, Sloane Brodie. It’s been a lot to take in, and although Dex is still trying to wrap his head around everything that’s happened, he knows he has to move forward.

After the events of Smoke & Mirrors, Dex and Sloane find themselves in one of the most frightening situations of all: revealing the truth to their Destructive Delta family. When the dust settles, nothing will ever be the same, and it’s up to Dex to prove that in the face of change, the one thing that will always remain the same is family.

Review:

Thick & Thin picks up right where Smoke & Mirrors left off and readers will quickly be drawn back in by Dex and Sloane. Dex is having problems coping with the sudden changes that have occurred in his life, especially since he is having to keep so much of what is going on secret from his friends and loved ones. The fact that Tony is in the hospital does not help either, but through it all Sloane is by his side making things bearable.

Slowly the couple’s secrets come out and as you would expect the fall out is hard on everyone. Feelings are hurt, especially Ash’s and Cael’s, which is understandable. I have to say, the closeness of all the characters really comes through in this book, and at times I was close to tears. Some of the changes Dex and Sloane face also affect Destructive Delta on a professional level and I am curious as to how this will change the look out of the series.

While I know that many like Spark, like Dex, I think she is up to no good. Although I hate that Tony will be hurt, even though I have to wonder if he started the relationship with her to find up what she was really up too, I will be doing the happy dance when Dex and Sloane bring her down.

There is a lot going on in this short story, it is not a full-size novel as earlier additions to this series have been, and readers are sure to love it. The author easily pulls the readers back into the world she has created. From the action faced by Destructive Delta to Dex’s snarky attitude and the love he and Sloane share, there is something for everyone.

The THIRDS is not the usual shifter series. Fans of the shifter sub-genre should really check it out if they have not done so already, I can guarantee that you will become hooked just as so many others have.

Highly Recommended!
