Shane Wise is a Dom and part owner of a popular BDSM club in Rittenhouse Square, Club Rebellion. A tumultuous past has led him to an almost perfect present, except Shane has a secret. A secret that could destroy his reputation in the world in which he loves to live-BDSM.

Deacon Archer is also a Dom and part owner of Club Rebellion and he is in love with Shane Wise. Together Shane and Deacon must decide if the love they feel can withstand the scrutiny they fear, if their relationship is revealed.

Can two dominants truly forge a relationship? Will secret desires open up a new world and allow Shane to be the man he was intended to be or will veiled dominance get in the way?

Veiled Dominance is the first book I’ve read by Evelise Archer and it definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the simplistic writing style this author has and enjoyed the heated chemistry the two main heroes shared together.

Although Veiled Dominance is told in third person, in my opinion, this is really Shane’s story. Shane is a dominant who partnered with several of his friends which share the ownership of BDSM club called Club Rebellion. Although he is friends with all of his partners, there is one man in particular, Deacon, that Shane has a very special bond with. See, Shane in many ways lives with a secret and has a mysterious and difficult past that he’s been struggling to come to terms with since just about all of his adult life.

In Deacon, Shane feels like he can be himself. Although he identifies himself as a Dominant, he has a submissive side that only his best friend and love Deacon can satisfy. Because of this, both men do not share the the loving relationship they have with others. They know people in their community, and possibly, their partners will not understand the dynamics of their relationship.

But the secrecy is driving both Deacon and Shane crazy. It’s becoming harder to not show the affection and love they share together with their friends. Plus, Shane’s past is beginning to build a bridge between he and Deacon and both men must work through some hard issues if they want to build a life together.

As I mentioned before, this is basically Shane’s story. I enjoyed watching Shane really come to terms with his past as well as come to terms with the truth behind his relationship with Deacon. It was good to see Shane really grow and evolve into truly finding peace with a difficult life and get excited about sharing a future with Deacon.

Though this is a BDSM romance, the D/s elements to the story wasn’t over the top. I really enjoyed how the Doms really seem to take the time to allow their sub to get into subspace and I particular liked how the partners of Club Rebellion really take the time to show and educate other people who are both novices and even more experienced into the BDSM lifestyle.

I also enjoyed the dynamics of Shane and Deacon’s relationship because there is so much more to it than just the BDSM element to it. There are deep feelings they share between them and a little bit of hot and sexy romance there as well.

I do wish the book had been a little more fleshed out when it came to Deacon’s life. There isn’t a whole lot we learn about him, BUT as I said this is Shane’s story, so I kind of understood the reason why Deacon’s past life was put on the back-burner. Also, there were times I thought the conversations between the characters were a little stilted at times, but all in all I really enjoyed this book. If you aren’t a romance of the BDSM genre, this is definitely one you should still consider because it’s truly not over-the-top in any way, instead it concentrates of the ongoing and evolving dynamics between Deacon and Shane.

Veiled Dominance is the second book in the Club Rebellion series and was easily read as a stand-alone book. I admit, I haven’t read the first book in the series yet, but after enjoying this read so much, I plan on rectifying that real soon.
