Politics, puppy dogs, and passion, oh my!

When his Republican opponent outs him with a photo in a Facebook post, Senator Samuel Dalton doesn’t have many options open to him. It doesn’t matter that the photo is totally innocent. He has no choice but to come clean… until his staff suggest putting a spin on it that leaves Sam reeling.

Sure, he’ll end up with a lot of sympathy, not to mention the possibility of more voters from the LGBT community, but it still seems a pretty drastic solution.

Now all they have to do is persuade Gary, the other man in the photo, to play along. It sounds so easy: convince the constituents of North Carolina that he and Sam are engaged.

No big deal, except for the fact that they’ve only just met….

The Senator’s Secret by KC Wells is part of the Dreamspun Desires line at Dreamspinner Press. These books have a more harlequin feel and characters often find themselves in fun and sometimes outlandish circumstances.

KC Wells is one of those authors that I really like. She has a way of writing heartfelt characters that often stay with me long after I finish reading one of her books. From BDSM themed books to a sweet, romantic tale, Ms. Wells knows how to write relationships and romance.

I really enjoyed watching Sam and Gary’s relationship transition from strangers to lovers. At first their relationship is developed under a lie, but as they get to know each other, it was easy to see why they became friends and fell in love. They just fit together nicely and I enjoyed the story they had to tell.

This book is pure sugar and sweetness with a dash of hot seduction. It brought a smile to my face and I enjoyed the lighthearted backstory. If you are looking for angst, this is not the book for you, but if you crave romance with two heroes that fall almost instantly for each other, look no further because this is definitely the book for you.
