Shifter Hardball: Book One

Playboy wolf shifter Wiley can’t duck out of his pack’s biggest annual event, despite knowing his grandmother has possible suitors lined up and waiting. Wiley has no intention of settling down, and the situation dangles just above disaster. Thankfully, Wiley’s best friend, lion shifter Ram, agrees to pose as Wiley’s boyfriend for the weekend.

They find out fate has other plans when they kiss on a dare, and the passion erupts, so hot and intense they fear the couch may spontaneously combust beneath them. Neither man is able to push the small act of affection from his mind, but both struggle with uncertainty and the ramifications of following where their libidos lead.

If they can’t outrun their feelings, they’ll have to muster the courage to face their fears before they lose everything, including their friendship.

Review:

Friends with Benefits is the first book in the Hardball series. I actually read this series out of order and because I enjoyed the second book so much, I immediately had to read the first one. One of the things I like about these two books is the way the camaraderie between all of the characters really jump off of the written page. Also, I enjoyed the intense chemistry and witty banter between Ram and Wiley. Not only is this book sexy as hell, it’s got some funny, laugh out loud moments too.

Between the strong physical and emotional connection these two characters shared between them, I also fell in love with Wiley’s family. I really enjoyed the dynamics of the wolf pack Wiley was in and totally fell in love with Wiley’s grandmother and sweet Pip. (Yes, I hope young Pip gets his own story somehow, someday) It would be great if Ms. Meadow’s wrote more about Wiley’s pack, but since this is a series about shifters on a baseball team, I find that unlikely. This saddens me because I think there would be some great stories there too.

If you love sexy, sultry stories with plenty of humor and romance, then Friends with Benefits is definitely the book for you. Don’t forget to check out all of the Hardball series, too. I know I’m anxious to see what’s going to happen next.

Highly Recommended!
