It’s a hellaciously hot day in Minneapolis and all Thom wants to do is enjoy his ice cream and forget about the stacks of essays waiting for him back in his stifling apartment. Until he meets Gerry, a kilted, tattooed Welshman. The conversation is smooth and the attraction immediate, but Gerry is only in town for the night and isn’t down for anything quick and forgettable. When they meet again, hours later, Gerry knows there’s something in the air and all bets are off. Including his kilt.

Review:

Whew! Who doesn’t love a man in a kilt? There’s Something About a Kilt is the first book I’ve read by Schuyler L’Roux and it won’t be my last. Although this is a short story, the chemistry between Gerry and Thom was hot enough to steam up my computer screen. It was so hot, I found myself truly wishing the story was longer and felt a little cheated when the book came to an end. Although there is a promise of more books to come, I was still disappointed when the short story came to an end.

Gerry and Thom meet on a hot summer’s day. After exchanging a flirtatious banter at the ice cream pallor, both men are clearly interested in each other.

There is only one problem. Gerry is from L.A. and will be returning home the following day.

Because of this, they decide to not give into their attraction for each other and instead they go their separate ways. Soon, Thom is regretting his decision to not pursue Gerry and he finds himself at the club, determined to dance the night away…but when he is pleasantly surprised to run into Gerry again, the heat between them turn up.

I liked this story. The heated exchange between Gerry and Thom was well-written and I easily found myself envisioning why Thom would be so taken with Gerry and his kilt. I liked how they seemed to genuinely like one another and could easily see them working toward something special, and I’m anxious to read more about them.

When it came to rating this story I went back in forth between 3.5 and 4 Kisses. In the end, I picked 4 Kisses because I did like the characters and the heated moments they shared in the book. Plus, the cover is gorgeous! *Fans Self*

If you are looking for a quick read where the physical chemistry sizzles and burns between the two heroes, then There’s Something About a Kilt is definitely for you.

Recommended.
