A Piece Us Back Together story

After suffering a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder, Garrett believes his life is over. Depressed, bereft, in pain, and unable to return to the career he loves as an arborist, he sees no hope or future for himself. But a trip to Havelock Island in India turns his world upside down. He meets Jai, an Indian nurse, and becomes smitten with him. Near the end of his trip, while swimming with an elephant, he tells Jai how he feels.

After Garrett returns to Australia, he wonders if he can ever be healed of all his pain—physical, emotional, and mental—and fears that love and romance will never be his again. But then Jai turns up in Perth and brings with him astonishing news.

Review:

I am a huge L.J LaBarthe fan, this story I found was a little different from the books I have read by her.

This is the story of Garrett and of his debilitating shoulder injury and his journey of learning to live with the injury, of losing the job he loved and being open to new love with Jai and a different job. It was a nice story, but I missed the romance of the small moments of new love and the developing relationship they would have with each other.

Jai showed up and they were together without giving us the story of them.

So I believe it is a story of Garrett learning to live with his pain and with life changes. In seemed like Jai was thrown in so there could be a happily ever after.

Don’t get me wrong I am still going to be on pins and needles waiting for her next book. I just hope there is more love and romance between the couple than these two men had together.
