Book 1 of the Kennel Klub series.

The Kennel Klub takes pride in matching dominant shifters with the perfect mates.

Theo is looking for just that—someone to pleasure, to love, to take care of. Having dealt with tremendous personal losses, Theo uses his human form as a shield. No one can hurt him if he’s human.

Drew hasn’t shifted in more than a year. After spending his life serving a cruel alpha, he was cast aside. Drew has found that it’s easier to protect himself if he’s a wolf. A sub at heart, Drew is apprehensive at the concept of losing control. But as Theo arouses deep needs in Drew, he’ll learn that ceding his will is just the beginning of this erotic battle.

Inside Scoop: Theo’s dominant nature may be just what Drew needs. These same-sex shapeshifters will burn up the sheets!

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Sean Michael’s books. There is something very special about the way he writes both physical and emotional chemistry between his main characters. It’s very easy to fall in love with his heroes and enjoy the stories they have to tell.

When I first started reading Brush and Whip, it almost immediately reminded me of Mr. Michael’s ‘Velvet Glove’ (Which is one of my favorites) series. There are some similarities, but there are also some very key differences that definitely kept this storyline fresh and interesting. Instead of a science fiction setting, the Kennel Klub is set in a very uniquely told paranormal world.

When Drew is basically abandoned at the Kennel Klub, he feels nothing but despair. Not only does his Master/Alpha not want him anymore; he believes that he will never find true happiness with any mate.

Sixteen months later, Drew is often surly and acts out. But some of the staff at the Klub has a feeling that Drew has a sweet, submissive spirit. Because Drew is very depressed, he refuses to shift from his wolf to his human self and since it’s been so long, people are beginning to worry about Drew’s state of mind.

Theo can’t believe his good luck. As a Tiger/Lion shifter, he has very recently been accepted as a member of the Klub. Although Theo is looking for a the right submissive, he longs for a wolf shifter to call his own. As soon as Theo spots Drew, he instinctive knows that he’s found the submissive of his dreams. But because of Drew’s past, Theo must first develop a bond and a trust between them if he truly wants to have anything special between them.

I loved this book. I really liked both characters and thoroughly enjoyed the story they had to tell. Even though these two heroes probably should not be suited for each other, I found myself believing that they really were. I enjoyed watching the D/s play between them and really liked how each scene they had was one step closer for them to achieve the relationship they’ve always dreamed of having.

Brush and Whip is a sexy and romantic tale with the right mixture of angst, sweetness and kink. I can’t wait until the next book in the series comes out and look forward to seeing what Mr. Michael has in store for us yet!

Highly Recommended!
