As he juggles work and his boyfriend, Byron, Allen may have to choose between the cupcakes in his store and the cupcake in his bed.

Allen Jameson had it all—the perfect house, the perfect partner, the perfect life—until his partner, Gary, died suddenly, leaving him alone in the real world, where life isn’t so pretty and people make mistakes. Now Allen is the owner of Sweet ‘n’ Sassy Cupcake Shop, a cute boutique downtown, where he invents delicious flavors like strawberry and French meringue. Between working long hours and making special orders, Allen barely has time to think.

Then a hunky contractor walks into his shop looking for a treat. Allen and Byron Bannigan are total opposites, but they’re perfect together— salty and sweet like Allen’s signature peanut butter and chocolate ganache cupcakes. But as Allen struggles to juggle his business and his boyfriend, he learns he can only handle so much. He may have to choose between the cupcakes in his store and the cupcake in his bed.

I found this book to be a change of pace from Sean Michael’s other stories. What was the difference? Well, there is no BDSM in this book. Instead, Cupcakes is a tender and sweet Love story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Allen is such a sweet man. He and Byron have an instant connection, from meeting each other to falling in bed to falling in love, it moves along rather quickly, but Sean Michael makes it believable and it didn’t take me long to fall in love with sweet Allen either.

Byron is a big, strong construction worker and is just perfect for Allen, who was devastated at the death of his much older lover. Byron is there for Allen when a trusted friend of Allen’s takes away the business that Allen started and grew. The scenes between these two men were so tender and loving.

Because it’s Sean Michael who wrote this story it goes without saying the sex scenes were SMOKING HOT!!
I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.
