Title: The Lawyer Under the Tree
Author: Meg Harding
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press
Characters: Travis Buckley, Cameron Ward
Sub-Genre: Contemporary, Holiday Romance
Christmas parties aren’t Travis Buckley’s thing. He’s far too cynical and set in his ways. Too bad his bosses don’t care what he wants. Travis had better lawyer up and make the firm proud by contributing to a charity auction giving out dates with gorgeous men. It’s not really a hardship, except Travis might just buy a bit more than he bargained for.
Happy-go-lucky Cameron Ward runs the charity and has a lawyer for a brother, so he knows all about the secrets underneath those staid personas. This year, with a little help from his brother’s firm, Cameron’s setting out to be the crown jewel of the charity auction. Of course, every crown jewel needs a king—and Cameron knows exactly who he wants.
What’s not to love about a feel-good holiday themed story? I have to say that The Lawyer Under the Tree is definitely one of my favorites this year. I really liked how Cameron was able to get Travis to loosen up and enjoy life again.
I think one of the reasons this book stuck with me is because I really liked both of these two heroes. Travis is a workaholic who is in desperate need of a full life outside of work. Cameron is a free spirit who takes time to enjoy the little things in life. When these two men meet, there is an intense chemistry between them that really resonated outside of the written page.
This was a very quick and easy read. I found myself caught up in the romance between them and loved how they truly seemed to be made for each other. For a holiday read, this one will definitely lighten your heart and leave a smile on your face. Loved it and really hated to see it come to an end.
