Blurb:

When Mark Wright is pressed into being a mall Santa on Christmas Eve, his life is changed forever. Six-year-old Trevor Robinson has his Uncle Jack in tow—the same man Mark had a crush on at Asheville High School fifteen years earlier. Jack tells Santa his Christmas fantasy: “… to spend the holiday with an incredible guy who turns me on and does all kinds of naughty and wonderful things to my body.” How can Santa resist that challenge?

Review:

A wonderful Christmas story. Mark fulfils Jack’s Christmas wish with delightful ingenuity, masquerading as an old Chinese massage master and focusing solely on giving. Mark’s selflessness has a hint of sensual selfishness, yes, but Jack has his own reactions and insights into what’s going on.

This was simply a warm tale of two guys who meet unexpectedly, after having known each other in high school, but never daring to connect then. Both men feel realistic and sympathetic, and I enjoyed every line I read. Though we get the story only from Mark’s point of view, Jack comes through very well too. And for a short story, this had surprising depth of plot, characterization and dialogue, all of which I appreciated.

Recommended.
