You better watch out, the Blood Demons are out to play, and you have the mark of Athena on you, which means you are in big trouble.
Hawk has been blessed by the goddess Athena for more than a hundred and forty-four years to fight the evil that permeates the earth, the Keres female spirits death-army. When a new plague of victims arises, a flock of five Birds of Prey move to Atlanta to eradicate the enemy. Second in command, Hawk has seen his fair share of the enemy’s handiwork. What he doesn’t expect is to patrol one night and find a mortal fighting tooth and nail with one of his own enemies—the Keres’ army of Blood Demons.
Aaron is just trying to get through college, he really is. But, try as he might, his grades are still slipping, so he has to spend late nights in the library instead of partying. After a late night walking home from the library, he finds himself attacked by a grim-faced man who tries to dig a hole into Aaron’s chest with wicked looking claws. When a gold-eyed sexy stranger comes to help him out, he doesn’t expect to get nabbed for seeing too much and end up in the middle of a war he didn’t ask to be invited to. But once he’s in and spends more time with gold eyes, does Aaron really want to go back to the way things were before?
Wow! Saved by the Hawk has really started this series out with a bang! Between the action, sexy heroes, humor and hot sex this book kept me enthralled with it from the first page to the last word.
It’s no secret that Stephani Hecht and Jackie Nacht both are my go to authors when I’m in the mood for a fast-paced and sexy romance. Together they make a perfect writing team and I know that after reading this book, I can’t wait until the next one in the series.
The blurb really does an outstanding job at describing the story. At first glance, I wondered what the warrior, Hawk, and the college student, Aaron, would have in common. Hawk fights blood demons and hasn’t had a lot of TLC in his life, but when he saves Aaron from being killed, there is a strong bond that forms between them. I enjoyed watching them give into their attraction for each other, but I really loved how they really learned to respect each other as well as truly feel something special between them.
Another reason I really enjoyed this book was its humor. Although it is filled with plenty of action and romance, there is a definite humorous side to it as well. I liked these lighthearted moments because it gave me a break from all of the danger and action in the book. It was good to see characters have a humorous side to them, even when things are getting pretty serious.
I know I can’t wait to read David’s story! This book has a bit of a teasing cliffhanger to the ending which left this reader wanting more! If you are in the mood for a fun, sexy and action filled romance then Saved by the Hawk is definitely the book for you!
