Kincaid International Corporation’s CEO, Webber Kincaid, and his executive assistant, Tristan Moreau, have just returned from a Caribbean business trip gone horribly right. After years of hiding their love for each other, they finally came clean—and discovered KIC’s chief financial officer has been up to some shady business transactions. Now that they’re back, Tristan and Webber must expose the CFO’s indiscretions—and save Webber’s reputation, since he’s ultimately responsible for his CFO’s actions. With Tristan by his side, Webber faces KIC’s board of directors and a looming investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission and Department of Justice.

With all the uncertainty surrounding them, Webber and Tristan rely on the strength of their connection. Together, they plan an intimate wedding on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. But despite their love for one another, Webber and Tristan quickly realize they have some hurdles to cross before they can start their unexpected new life.

Review:

It’s no secret that I absolutely loved the first book in this series. I admit, I couldn’t wait to read the sequel and I’m pleased to say that I loved it almost as much as the first book!

An Unconventional Union begins almost immediately where the last book left off. Tristan and Webber are elbow deep in an investigation by the Department of Justice. Although they are faced with some hard times ahead, both men know that facing these trials together, they can probably overcome anything that is thrown their way. I loved how these men keep communicating as well as they depend on each other for emotional support. There is an obvious love, respect and friendship between them that really stands out as their story progresses. What’s even better is that these two men truly love one another. Not once, did I doubt their loyalty and affection they have for one another.

There’s more to the story than the ongoing investigation they face, but I don’t want to spoil a lot of the book, so forgive me if I’m a little evasive with some of the things I write about this book. There are several twists and surprising turns as the story unfolds that left me both with a huge smile on my face AND it also gave me several moments of grief and sadness. So, I feel compelled to warn readers to make sure you have plenty of tissues handy, because you’re going to need them. I loved every moment I spent reading this book and although there is a bittersweet quality to the story, it still left me with a smile on my face.

Beautifully written with characters that live and breathe off of the written page, An Unconventional Union is one of my favorite books I’ve read this year. Mr. Cade has one again gave this reader several hours of pure reading enjoyment and I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us! Although An Unconventional Union could probably be read as a stand alone book, I HIGHLY recommend reading the first book, An Unconventional Romance first. This way you’ll truly understand why these two amazing men have such a deep connection between them as well as getting to enjoy their romance from the beginning. Highly Recommended!
