About the last thing Vincent Wade expected was for Carson Cress to ask him out. Vince is a dedicated biology student and a bit of a loner. Superstar quarterback Carson is larger than life, and he lives under a public microscope. There’s no way they should work. But Vince is learning that sometimes people just come steamrolling into your life and all you can do is hang on for the ride or lose your heart in the process. If their relationship can survive the fallout when an injury derails Carson’s future plans, maybe Vince can finally find something to believe in.

Where have I been? I can’t believe this is the first book I’ve read by Mary Calmes. Now, I have to backtrack and read everything I find by her. *grin* The first thought I had after I finished this book was that the book was named perfectly. After all, Vincent had no idea how much his life was going to change after Carson steamrolled into it!

Vincent is a responsible college student. Not only does he work full time, he also works as a shift manager at the local copy shop. Since one of their managers at the shop has been fired for giving away free copies, Vincent has been working overtime, so he’s tired and longing for a much needed break.

One night an hour before the shop is about to close, two jocks come in and ask for an impossible job to be done before the store closes. Vincent stands his ground and refuses to give into the jocks almost bulling persuasion. Afterward, Vincent soon realizes that one of the jocks is the very popular, all-star football player Carson. He’s surprised when he runs into Carson again later and Carson starts to heavily pursue him. Vincent is overwhelmed by the attention Carson gives him and is unsure of his own feelings for the star player and when Carson is badly injured in a game, Vincent must face his own fears and feelings for Carson if they want to ever have anything special between them.

I LOVED this book! I adored Vincent’s spunky disposition and Carson’s determination to have Vincent in his life. I thought the banter between them was funny and even sexy at times and thoroughly enjoyed every moment they had together in the book. Ms. Calmes really seems to know how to grip her readers into the uniquely written, fascinating lives of her characters and I can’t wait to read more books written by her. Highly Recommended!
