Caring, professional SWGZ seeks open-minded SGM for dating and possible LTR…

Since his death two years ago, zombie Peter Reese’s love life has been nonexistent. His attempts to meet a regular “live” guy through a blind dating website—without revealing an important detail about himself—have all blown up in his face. Now, his current blind date with “Shane1990″ seems destined to end the same way, until the handsome guy inexplicably decides to give Peter another chance.

Can Peter prove that nice zombies don’t always finish last?

NOTE: This story is part of the Tales of the Arisen series.

Review:

Wow! For such a short story, this one packed a lot of punch! When I read the blurb, I was immediately captivated by it, and I knew I had to read and review this book. I’m glad I did. Between the sizzling chemistry between the two heroes and the fast paced storyline, Sex and the Single Zombie was everything I loved when it comes to reading romance and more!

Peter is lonely and looking for love. As a ‘life-impaired’ person, Peter had contacted a virus and died, but since he’s still walking around, talking, and doing things that other ‘alive’ people are doing, he and others like him are now considered what people call the Arisen.

Peter has tried everything to get a date. Since no one wants to date a ‘zombie’ he resorts to an online dating website, and conveniently hides the fact that he’s an Arisen. Even though he doesn’t like to be deceitful, it’s his hope that he’ll meet that special person that can see past his ‘life-impairment’ and want to date him for the person he is inside. So far, this hasn’t worked well for him. Once his prospective dates meet him, they immediately leave. Even though his discouraged by this, he hopes his latest date, Shane 1990, will be that special person who might take a chance on a lonely man like him.

Shane is stunned when he meets Peter. When he chatted with Peter online, he couldn’t help but be excited to meet him, but now once Shane sees the handsome zombie, he can’t help but want to leave. But despite himself, once he talks with Peter for a few minutes, he can’t help but be intrigued with him, so he decides to take a chance and give the sweet, likeable Peter a shot. As the two men start to get to know each other, Shane starts to see through Peter’s impairment, and realizes that he’s truly a nice man who’d he like to date. But not everyone is as open minded as Shane, and they are prejudiced against Peter and his kind. Will other people’s fear and misinformation keep Shane and Peter from achieving a once in a lifetime love they can find with each other?

I loved this book! I thought the storyline was creative and well-written. I immediately felt sorry for Peter, but thought his sheer stubbornness to still try to live his life as a ‘normal’ person was admirable. Even though he’s still very self-conscience at times, he finds himself really starting to trust in the feelings he has for Shane and for the way Shane really seems to see him as a man and not as an ‘Arisen’.

Shane too was a loveable hero. I really wanted to cheer when he decided to give Peter a chance and loved it when he truly started seeing past Peter’s impairment to the man Peter really is. Another thing I liked about Shane was that he’s a truly honorable man and is very determined to have Peter in his life.

I wish this book had been longer. I loved this couple and the story they told and I really didn’t want the story to end. Once again Ms. Gold really gets to the heart and soul of her characters and her creative storytelling ability makes this short story one of my favorites this year. I hope she will one day write more about this couple. I’d love to see how they really put each other first in their lives despite the reservations of others. If you are looking for a well-written, fun and sexy short story with amazing characters, Sex and the Single Zombie is definitely the book for you! Highly Recommended!

Thank you, Kristi:) I loved this book. It was a very refreshing take on the ‘Zombie’ themed type of story and the heroes were fabulous! I hope more books about the ‘Arisen’ are published soon. I hope you love it as much as I did. Thanks for commenting!
