Brent Baliss used to be the best, but his pitching days are long behind him. He doesn’t much care for the game anymore, yet signing up for the softball league gives him a chance to live a fantasy he’s had since the night he kissed a shy boy under the bleachers.

Now that Nathan and Brent are both adults, can they make it past that first awkward kiss to find something more?

Review:

I’ve read several books by Pepper Espinoza and I’ve really liked every one of them. This is the first short story I’ve read by her and I really liked it. Ms. Espinoza writes likeable, sexy heroes with an intense chemistry sizzling between them that is very addictive to read.

Since the blurb does an outstanding job at describing the short story, I won’t rehash it. Instead I thought I’d write about why I liked this story in general. Honestly, the most important thing to me when it comes to reading romance is it’s heroes. Both Nathan and Brent were interesting men. In my opinion, they for such a short story, they were likeable and humanly flawed men. Since their heated kiss years ago, they both have harbored a long-standing crush on each other and I enjoyed watching them meet again and rekindling the passion and romance between them.

Also, I have to admit the sex scene between them was smokin’ hot! Whew! Between the intense attraction they have for one another and the passionate way they touch each other, I swear my glasses wanted to steam up during their hot and sexy encounter. I also liked how even though this has a HFN ending, I could easily see them both working hard to nurture the feelings and attraction for each other and make their budding relationship into something special. I wish this had been a longer book, but honestly for the length it is, it is well-written and gave me several minutes of sheer guilty pleasure that I thoroughly enjoyed.
If you are looking for a quick, sexy read with two sizzling hot heroes, then Angels on the Outfield is definitely the story for you. Recommended!
