Deep in the Enchanted Forest, he finds Robert, a cross-dressing painter who lives alone in his tower. Mistaking him for a woman, Prince Aiden is determined to have Robert as his bride.
When the prince of his dreams shows up at Robert’s tower, he is far from happy, especially when the handsome prince refuses to believe he is a man. Can he convince Prince Aiden to love him as the man he is, or is their happily ever after doomed from the start?
Review:
I was glad to have read this book when I did. It’s filled with humor and it’s a fun and a sexy romance that kept this reader’s attention all through the story. I am a fan of fairy-tale romances, (I still blame Disney…lol) and I thought Let Down Your Hair by LM Brown had a refreshing and unique spin off of a well-loved tale.
Prince Aiden is looking for his one true love. His mother, the queen, has always expressed how important it is for him to find his princess, whether it’s to slay a dragon to get to her, or awaken her while she’s having a long beauty sleep, this is something Prince Aiden is determined to do. In the land he lives in, fairy tale stories are true. There is a Snow White, Cinderella and so forth, but he doesn’t want them. He’s determined to find his princess with long hair hidden away in some dark tower, so he can rescue her and live happily ever after.
Determined to save his own ‘Rapunzel’ he finds a tower and calls up for her to let down her hair so he may climb up and save her. But, things don’t go as planned. As much as he calls out to her, ‘Rapunzel’ never does as she’s supposed too, instead he gets a bucket full of water dropped on his head. Determined, Prince Aiden ends up breaking in a door and finds a beautiful maiden with long, luscious hair.
Robert can’t believe how determined Prince Aiden is to make him his ‘bride’. No matter how many times Robert tells him, she is really a he AND Robert just likes to dress up in women’s clothes every now and then, the Prince does not believe him. Now, Robert finds himself whisked away to the Prince’s castle and married before he knows what hits him. Now what is going to happen when the Prince finally realizes the truth?
I was surprised by the humor and the lightheartedness of this book. I had many laugh out loud moments and the ending left a big smile on my face. Both heroes are definitely likeable and stubborn, determined men. Like Robert, I wanted to knock some sense into Prince Aiden’s head a few times, and once he finally opened his eyes, I wanted to stand up and cheer for both of them.
Let Down Your Hair is definitely a sweet and sexy read. I enjoyed the banter between the two heroes and loved all of the secondary characters in this book. It gave me a couple of hours of enjoyment and I recommend it to anyone who loves a fairy-taled themed romance that will definitely leave you with a smile on your face.
