This two volume fast paced pulp yaoi novel is an adventure filled journey with many twists and turns involving love struck men, martial arts, dancing, casinos, hotels, an amazing Manhattan loft, the NPA, the FBI, the Yakuza and a healthy dose of graphic smex.

In this Volume One, we meet twenty-three year old graphic artist Michael Black, a Native American student of Shotokan karate and learn of how his life gets turned upside down and inside out by a mysterious stranger whom ambushes him at the dojo he attends, one evening.

Review:

Michael Black is a 23 year man studying karate at the Kimura dojo under his sensei Ichiro Kimura. Kiyoshi Kimura is the brilliant, talented, but deeply troubled cousin of Ichiro who suffered a very traumatic incident when he was a child. The trauma caused him to develop a split personality which makes him very unstable. Michael is asked by his sensei to watch out for Kiyoshi but finds himself falling in love with the very complicated beautiful young man. When Kiyoshi sees Michael in what he thinks is a compromising position, he disappears.

This is a very complicated glimpse into the personal lives of two young men who find themselves in love despite the horrible and traumatic pasts that they both have. I like the way the author blends tragedy into a fragile hope for the future.
