Since Jackson’s partner died, life is one big routine. When he meets his neighbor, Elijah, he’s intrigued by the mysterious man, and his somber world becomes exciting and beautiful.
Elijah needed a fresh start after working in the dark world of pornography. Finding the strength to move away from drug abuse and his despised existence, he moves to Charlestown and discovers a connection with Jackson unlike anything before.
Fear of losing the one man he’s come to rely on keeps Elijah silent even as he grows determined to be a man worthy of Jackson’s love. When Elijah’s secrets are revealed, will Jackson be able to see past his former life and stand proudly beside the man Elijah is today?
Review:
How wonderful to once again spend some quality time with the men of Charlestown. It was gratifying to know that Allen and Shiloh are still romping around their bakery, and that Nick & Josh are still devoted to each other and Danny. And who wouldn’t want to spend some time with the ever loveable and tail wagging Shep!
But how warm and cuddly it was to find the elusive and shadowy Jackson getting another run at love. And the man who jumped that fence and landed in his heart couldn’t be more deserving of love himself.
Jackson Edwards is a widower who has resolved that his chance at love was given him and is now gone after a wonderful life with his husband Ben. He believes himself content to live in the shadows of life, emerging periodically in order to keep a connection with humanity.
Elijah Patterson is convinced that life is cruel and he will never be given the opportunity to experience requited love. After living the life of a gay porn star, he believes that the choices he made were obviously the wrong ones and they have landed him in the void of a loveless life.
But life seldom deals what one expects from it. A simple conversation across a fence brings the lives of Jack & Eli, as they have come to accept them, to an abrupt halt. You get to travel with these two wonderful men on a road that Eli never thought he would walk on and that Jack never thought he would get to skip down ever again. And on that road you will laugh, you will cry, you will jump for joy and you will not hesitate to become friends with these two charming men of Charlestown.
