Review:
Immortal Valentine is the first book I’ve read by Ellis Carrington and it definitely won’t be my last. Over the years, I’ve read a lot of Paranormal/Vampire themed romances, and I have to admit that Caleb and Angelo’s story had a fresh and interesting spin on a well-loved theme. I was immediately swept up into the lives of these two unique and interesting characters and read the book from start to finish in one setting.
Caleb thought it was going to be another lonely Valentine’s Day. Prepared to go home and spend the holiday alone, he’s stunned when chance meeting from a handsome stranger, Angelo, sweeps him off of his feet for a night of warm and welcoming company, and a little fine dining and romance. But just when things are really getting hot and heavy for Caleb and Angelo, Caleb gets sick from food poisoning and to his dismay, he knows his hot night with Angelo will come to an end. To his surprise, Angelo takes care of Caleb and the two men end up connecting on a deeper emotional level than either of them are prepared for.
For years, Angelo, has spent every Valentine’s Day in the same way. He wines and dines lonely strangers, takes them up to a nice hotel room, and feeds off of them while enjoying a hot sexual encounter together before sends them off the next day with a smile on their face, and a hazy memory from the night before. It’s the one day of the year Angelo allows himself to feed off of humans and he does it with care and concern. But when he meets the sweet and sexy Caleb, Angelo finds himself becoming captivated with the young man, and once their night is interrupted because of Caleb’s unexpected illness, he immediately changes his plans and finds himself caring for Caleb’s wellbeing. When it comes to love, trust and romance the two men find themselves faced together in an unchartered territory. Angelo ends up revealing his true nature to Caleb and Caleb is faced with some decisions he never thought he’d have to make. When an unexpected visitor from Angelo’s past shows up, both men must decide if the love they feel for each other is worth fighting for.
I really loved this book! The story itself is intriguingly interesting and well written. Before I knew it, I had read the entire book, so it is a fast-paced and addictive read. Both Angelo and Caleb are very unique and humanly flawed characters that I thought lived and breathed off of the written page. I loved the dilemma they found themselves in and their whirlwind romance lived in my mind long after I finished reading the book.
I really loved these two characters and hope that one day the author will write more about them. I would love to see these two men really work at keeping their relationship strong as well as getting more of a glimpse of their lives together. If you are looking for a hot, romantic and well-written story of a sexy Vampire and his human mate, I highly recommend you check out Immortal Vampire by Ellis Carrington. This book was definitely a keeper for me and I know I’ll be reading it again and again when I’m in the mood for a sweet and sexy Vampire themed romance.
