Meet Chase Chavez: bartender, ex-law student, and unofficial matchmaker. Traumatized by a past breakup, Chase has spent the past three years compensating for his own loneliness by helping his friends find dates, but when he meets Bryan, he finds himself fighting emotions he never thought he’d face again. Bryan’s belief in Chase and their relationship is unshakeable; Chase is feeling nothing but shaken. Can he risk it all and take the plunge, not knowing if Bryan will be there to catch him?
Review:
Good gracious, the passage where we met Bryan was (hold on my catching breath) hilarious. The comedic moments don’t stop there. The flirty and dirty (playful) pool game had me rolling. Their first kiss was also realistic and one many of us could relate to. I mean, who hasn’t bumped noses once or twice.
What I liked about Bryan was he never gave up on the man he came to love. Believe me, Chase had his douche moments and made it hard for anyone to consider staying with him. For example, when he sent Oliver in his place for the date with Bryan, I wanted to grab Chase by the collar and give him a piece of my mind.
Their actual successful first date was very steamy and sweet. What I also loved about it was you’d expect the men to kiss and immediately hit the sheets; however, Alex changed it up and had the men decide to wait mutual feelings were felt. That’s rare in a love story and frankly rare in real life. It’s nice to read that someone feels a first sexual moment in a new relationship can be heightened and more intimate if two people actually care for one another. Bravo, Alex!
