Blurb:

Denver, 1981: To the residents of The Palisade, the brick wall behind which their apartment complex lies protects more than the body. Behind that wall, being gay doesn’t equal being an oddity, an outsider, or a threat.

Review:

The Palisade by George Seaton is a wonderful story about gay men living in a walled community that feels safe and secure. The story is told primarily through the eyes of the writer and includes his reflection on his teenage years. The reflections include his discovery of being gay and how it ultimately will shape his life. The other tenants give us a glimpse of their everyday lives. When a complaint is made by the neighbors the police descend on this quiet community and this will end the tenant’s feelings of being secure. I truly enjoyed this story and hope to read more by George Seaton.
